Terms of Service

PropellerChess is made by CrashTestApps.DEV. This page is the deal between you and us: what the membership is, what it costs, and what each of us can expect. You accept it when you start your trial.

You sign in with your email address and a code we send to it; there are no passwords. Keep that address current, because everything about your membership goes there. One person per account. If you don’t sign in for a year, we may close the account, and we email you before we do.

There is one plan, billed once a year in US dollars. The price is shown at checkout, before you commit to anything.

The trial. Your first 14 days are free. You add a payment method when you start, but nothing is charged until the trial ends, and we email you before that happens. Cancel before the trial ends and it costs nothing.

Renewal. After the trial, the yearly fee is charged, and the membership renews every year on the same date until you cancel. Your renewal date is always shown in Account. If the price ever changes, we tell you by email before your next renewal.

Cancelling. Cancel any time from Account, under Manage billing. Your membership runs to the end of the year you have paid for, then stops.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Once a yearly fee has been charged, it is not refunded, not even partly. That includes the rest of a year you don’t use if you cancel, and it includes deleting your account mid-year: deleting ends the membership on the spot, and the rest of the year goes with it.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again and emails you. If it still cannot be collected, the membership ends.

Morphy is the AI coach that annotates your games. There is a limit: a trial includes up to 50 annotated games, and each membership year includes up to 1500. Your count is shown in Account, we email you as you get close, and when you reach it Morphy waits for your next membership year. Only annotations that actually arrive count; a failed run is on us.

The limit is what keeps the price flat. Unused annotations don’t carry over and aren’t worth money.

We can close any account that abuses the app: sharing an account, reselling access, running scripts or bots against it, or anything else that spoils it for everyone. No refund in that case.

An account whose membership has ended keeps its sign-in and its library. You can still open your games and openings, tidy them, and export every game as one PGN file. You cannot play the training rooms, import games, or use Morphy until you start a new membership, which you can do from Account at any time. A new membership after an ended one is a paid year: the free trial is for first-time members only, and deleting an account and making a new one with the same address doesn’t reset that.

Everything you play or import here is yours. We store it, work on it, send it to the AI services described in our Privacy Policy, and show it back to you; that is all. If you connect a lichess account, PropellerChess reads your studies with your permission and never posts or changes anything there. Disconnect it any time from Account.

Morphy’s coaching is written by an AI and can be wrong. Engine evaluations are estimates. The training rooms are built to make you a better player, and we work at that every day, but nobody can promise you a rating. The app will keep changing as it grows; what your membership includes on the day you join stays included for as long as you keep it.
